Coming together for Free Palestine

At Tejal Yoga, we hosted the first of this week's Action to Expression practices to support a Free Palestine. Below is a recap and resources for you to take a few actions where you are, online or in person.

And please share how you've been feeling and organizing where you are, so that we can share your news at this Friday's Action to Expression practice (reserve your spot here). Use the Tejal Yoga Contact Form to share about actions in your area.

We kicked the meeting off with the timeless check-in question of: What brings you to this practice?

We shared feelings of isolation from living in areas where not much seemed to be happening to bring awareness or take action.

We shared experiences from the bigger cities where the marches and rallies are huge and powerful yet outside of organized events, the micro-networks can be confusingly silent.

We shared that it can be frightening or scary to recognize feeling detached and not know if this feeling will take up permanent residence within you.

We spent time watching clips from Palestine is the Still the Issue, a 2002 documentary by John PIlger. We viewed two clips: the lasting impact of the occupation on Palestinian school children (42:44) and an Israeli father's perspective on the forces that create the situation of suicide bombings (15:21).

We shared stories that connected us to Palestine's struggle and to our own dedication towards challenging oppressive systems and regimes.

We told one another what actions we planned to take this day and invited loving accountability from one another. We started a list of resources and references to support our actions.

I left our meeting feeling lighter and once again, eager to stay involved and invested in this struggle.
